Course Design

Five foundation courses each of 3 credit hours as part of the 10 Major Courses offered in First through fourth Semesters. There are 17 General Courses (with two additional courses as replacement for non-Muslims taking them against Islamic Studies and Fehm-ul-Quraan), 04 Allied courses/Inter-disciplinary. Fifth Semester onwards specialized/Applied nature courses are designed with two specializations.

Exposure Visits

02 exposure/Research visits/Field Visit to be arranged each not more than a week on self-finance basis.

Sports and Science Competitions

On various occasions and festivals events are to be arranged to encourage students for healthy competition and learning through experience.

Attendance

70% to be eligible for Exam but not below 60% in each semester.

Target Participants

Entry to the program is at F.A/FSC level or students having 12 years of education completed, the university may consider students on the results of 11^th year of education through an entry test, but confirmation of the admission is subject to the final clearance of 12 years of education.

Nature of Program

This is to be credited as 127-139 Credit hours Under-graduate Degree granted after completion of 16 years of Education as BS in Peace and Conflict Studies as Major with two optional specializations. The credits can be transferred to other BS and MA Programs in semester system at University of Peshawar or other affiliated institutions with whom University of Peshawar has MoU for the purpose, subject to existence of similar courses or to avoid repetition of the course in those programs. The Institute also offers Peace Mediation & Conflict Management as Minor with five courses consisting of 15 credit hours at undergraduate level to students interested in the field.
