Upper Chitral Press Club Journalists Visit Department of Journalism & Mass Communication

The President of the Upper Chitral Press Club, Mr. Muhammad Ali Mujahid, along with a delegation of member journalists, visited the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Peshawar, where they participated in a capacity-building and orientation session focused on contemporary journalism and professional practices.

Dr. Mehnaz Gul, Chairperson, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, along with Dr. Bakht Zaman, Mr. Ali Imran, and Ms. Sibgha Idrees, conducted interactive capacity-building sessions for the visiting journalists. The sessions focused on contemporary journalism, effective news reporting, identifying and combating fake news and misinformation, and effective communication, with an emphasis on strengthening professional skills and promoting responsible and ethical journalism.

The delegation included Mr. Jamshid Ahmad, Mr. Suhail Ahmad, Mr. Shahzad Ahmad, Mr. Sarfaraz Shahid, and Ms. Mehek Naz.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for interaction and knowledge sharing between academia and the professional media community. The Department reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academia media collaboration and supporting the professional development of journalists through continued capacity building and knowledge sharing initiatives.
