ABOUT

Dr. Alamgir is a distinguished statistician and academic serving as Associate Professor/ Chairman of the Department of Statistics, University of Peshawar. He joined the Department in 1998 and has since made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership. He holds a PhD in Statistics, and his primary research interests include Machine Learning, Statistical Inference, Probability Distributions, and Robust Statistics. His research focuses on developing statistically rigorous and computationally efficient methodologies for data analysis, predictive modeling, robust estimation, and classification, with applications across diverse scientific and interdisciplinary domains. He has published numerous research articles in well-recognized national and international peer-reviewed journals and continues to contribute to advancing statistical theory and modern data-driven methodologies.

With more than two decades of academic and administrative experience, Dr. Alamgir has taught a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate courses in Statistics, and machine learning. He has supervised numerous BS, MPhil, and PhD research scholars, mentoring them in both theoretical and applied statistical research. He is committed to fostering excellence in teaching, encouraging innovative research, and strengthening the integration of modern statistical and machine learning techniques to address real-world problems and support evidence-based decision-making.
