Dr. Qaisar Jamal

Dr. Qaisar Jamal is an assistant professor in the Institute of Zoological Sciences, University of Peshawar. His field of specialization is parasitology and he works on the in vitro drug development against leishmaniasis. Dr Qaisar's work on leishmaniasis spass almost two decades. He has established a Leishmania culture lab in the IZS. Beside he also works on the taxonomy of various groups including flies, nematomorphs, nematodes as well as snails and herpetofauna. He has described a new species of horsehair worm for the first time from Pakistan.

Lecture: I have been a lecturer at the Institute of Zoological Sciences, University of Peshawar since 2011 till 2026.
Assistant Professor: since September 2026, I have been promoted as Assistant Professor of Zoology.
During my academic journey since I joined Peshawar University, I have taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Animal Form and Fucntion, Developmental Biology, Animal Physiology, Systematic Zoology, Biological Techniques and Cell Biology. I have supervised 14 M.Sc., 15 BS and 15 M. Phil thesis. A PhD thesis is near completion
