About

Fakhra Aziz received her M.Phil. degree in Electronics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan and her Ph.D. degree in Engineering Sciences (Applied Physics) from Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. She served as a Ph.D. Visiting Researcher at the Low Dimensional Materials Research Laboratory (LDMRC), Department of Physics, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2010. She is currently a Professor at the Department of Electronics, University of Peshawar, Peshawar, Pakistan, where she is leading two funded research projects in the area of renewable energy. She subsequently completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Malaya in 2016. Her research interests include renewable energy, organic semiconductors, perovskite solar cells, and advanced functional materials.

Professional Experience

Professor, Department of Electronics, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Principal Investigator (PI) of two funded research projects and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of one research project. Ph.D. Visiting Researcher (2010) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2016) at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Research interests include renewable energy, perovskite solar cells, organic semiconductors, and advanced materials.

  2. Principal Investigator of “Ternary Non-Fullerene based Polymer Solar Cells:  Fabrication and investigation of solar cells on rigid and flexible substrates” for a period of two years funded by the Higher Education Department (HED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the Higher Education Research Endowment Fund (HEREF) research grant worth Rs. 3.68 millions.
  3. Co-Principal Investigator of “AI-Powered Dual-Spray System for Precision Crop Management and Weed Eradication in Wheat and Maize” for a period of two years funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, under the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) research grant worth Rs. 6.99 millions.
