Dr. Muhammad Asif

Dr. Muhammad Asif, an esteemed researcher and educator, currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Numerical and Physical Sciences, at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He previously held the position of Director, Centre for IT Services, University of Peshawar.

In addition to his role as an Assistant Professor, he has been an active member of the Advanced Study Research Board for the last 6 years, where he plays a vital role in advancing academic excellence at the university. He remained coordinator of MS/MPhil and PhD studies at the department of Electronics, University of Peshawar. He was part of the team to establish well-equipped labs for MS and PhD students.

Dr. Asif earned his PhD in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK in 2012. He completed his bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering with Honors from UET Peshawar in 2006.

Dr. Asif's research interests span computer and wireless communication networks, with a focus on performance analysis and design. He explores diverse networks like WSNs, MANETs, IoT, and 5G. Additionally, his research delves into Routing, Network Traffic Estimation, Software-Defined Networks, M2M Communications, Network Security & privacy, Deep Learning, Smart Cities, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and the impact of digital inclusion on future technologies and society.
