About

Dr. Naila Nazir is a Fulbright Scholar who earned her Postdoctoral fellowship at Michigan State University, USA. during 2014–15. She served as Adjunct Faculty at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Michigan State University, in 2015.

She served as the Chairperson of the Department of Economics, University of Peshawar, from 2019 to 2024.

Before joining the University of Peshawar, she worked as a Research Officer at the Monopoly Control Authority, Government of Pakistan, now known as the Competition Commission of Pakistan. She holds Ph.D. in Environmental Economics and is a Systems Modeler, working primarily on issues related to environment and resource economics, energy supply and demand, and forest economics. She is also qualified in Environmental Systems’ Management. Her academic interests further extend to sustainable project planning, public policy, human resource development, and resource management.

A winner of the Star Girls and Women International Award (1996), Dr. Naila is actively involved in community-based initiatives, with a special focus on supporting transgender and differently abled individuals.

She also serves as a reviewer for research projects and manuscripts for national and international institutions and publishers.
