About

Dr. Sadiq Akbar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Peshawar and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, under the prestigious C2F Scholarship program during 2022–2023. His research interests include Array Signal Processing, Direction of Arrival Estimation, Adaptive Beamforming, Phased Array and MIMO Systems, System Identification, Evolutionary Computing, Swarm Intelligence, Optimization Methods, and Controller Design.

Dr. Akbar's research focuses on the development and application of advanced signal processing and computational intelligence techniques to address challenging engineering problems. His work integrates optimization algorithms with modern communication and electronic systems, contributing to improved system performance, modeling, and design methodologies. He has authored and co-authored numerous research articles in international peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at international conferences, contributing to the advancement of signal processing, optimization, and wireless communication technologies.

Professional Experience

Dr. Sadiq Akbar has over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration in higher education. He joined the Department of Electronics, University of Peshawar, as a Lecturer in 2000 and has been serving as an Assistant Professor since 2010. Throughout his career, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has supervised numerous student research projects in electronics and related fields.

Alongside his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Akbar has been actively involved in research, curriculum development, and academic administration. He has served in various administrative capacities at the University of Peshawar, including Staff Proctor, Senior Warden, and Resident Warden. He has also contributed as a visiting faculty member to several departments and institutions. His professional work combines teaching excellence with research in signal processing, wireless communications, computational intelligence, optimization techniques, and control systems.

• Recipient of the prestigious Second Century Fund (C2F) Postdoctoral Scholarship, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

Research Projects

International Collaborative Research Project (2023–2024)

Successfully completed a research project conducted by Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, under the supervision of Professor Gridsada Phanomchoeng. The project involved the development of computational models and advanced signal processing techniques for MIMO radar systems. The research outcomes contributed to publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals.
