Baragali Training Workshop


The Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar, in collaboration with the Pakistan Inclusive Psychological Society (PIPS), successfully organized a five-day residential workshop titled “Building Resilient Youth” at the Bara Gali Campus, University of Peshawar, from 13 to 17 July.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by the Chairperson and Associate Professor Dr. Summiya Ahmed, who highlighted the importance of resilience, mental health awareness, and empowering youth to address contemporary social challenges.

Throughout the five-day program, participants attended interactive sessions on mental health, gender-based violence (GBV), extremism, radicalization, psychological resilience, and youth empowerment. The sessions provided practical knowledge, encouraged critical thinking, and enhanced participants’ understanding of current social and psychological issues.

The opening ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Erum Irshad as the Chief Guest, while the closing ceremony was graced by the chairperson/Associate Professor Dr. Sumayya Ahmed as the Chief Guest. Both appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the workshop in their academic, professional, and personal lives.

The workshop concluded with a Mind Venture Trip in the scenic surroundings of Bara Gali, where participants engaged in nature-based and team-building activities designed to promote mental well-being, resilience, and collaboration.

At the closing ceremony, certificates of participation and appreciation were presented to the Chief Guest, guest speakers, and participating students in recognition of their valuable contributions and active involvement in the successful completion of the workshop.

The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all guest speakers, facilitators, volunteers, and participants for making the workshop a great success. The event reflected the shared commitment of the Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar, and the Pakistan Inclusive Psychological Society (PIPS) to promoting mental health, resilience, inclusion, and positive youth development.
