Past Meets Present was a four-day international conference held from 18–21 August 2026 at the Baragali Summer Camp, University of Peshawar. The conference brought together researchers, students, academics, heritage professionals, tourism practitioners and policymakers to explore the rich archaeological heritage and sustainable tourism potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Through keynote addresses, research presentations, panel discussions and interactive sessions, participants examined innovative approaches to heritage conservation, cultural preservation and responsible tourism development.

Hosted amidst the scenic landscapes of Baragali, the conference also provided participants with opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and field-based learning. By fostering collaboration between academia, government institutions and the tourism industry, Past Meets Present highlighted the importance of protecting archaeological treasures while promoting sustainable tourism as a driver of economic growth and community development. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to preserving the region's cultural legacy and strengthening partnerships for the future of heritage and tourism in Pakistan.
