Institute of Management Studies Inaugurates Its First-Ever Job Fair at the University of Peshawar

The Institute of Management Studies (IMS), University of Peshawar, proudly inaugurated its first-ever Job Fair, marking a significant milestone in strengthening university–industry linkages and enhancing graduate employability. The event attracted a large and diverse range of organizations representing key sectors including financial institutions, industrial enterprises, high-tech companies, real estate firms, and pharmaceutical industries, all participating in on-site recruitment interviews.

Prominent employers in attendance included the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Bank of Khyber, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah, FF Steel, Moeed Industries, SRSP, FEN, Khyber Lamps, AYS Group of Companies, Daastan Club, Seeds School of Excellence, H(loop?), Memaar Group of Companies, Veevo Tech, along with many other reputable organizations. Additionally, several companies participated through interactive digital platforms, further expanding recruitment opportunities for students.

The job fair fostered a collaborative and inclusive environment, catering not only to IMS graduates but also extending career services to students from other departments of the University of Peshawar, including the Department of Economics, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Quaid-e-Azam College of Commerce, and other academic units. This inclusive approach reflected IMS’s commitment to serving the broader university community.

The recruitment drive commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Dur-e-Nayab Gul, Coordinator Career Development Center (CDC), who highlighted the vision and objectives of the CDC in facilitating meaningful employment opportunities for students. Professor Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Khan emphasized the critical importance of a functional Career Development Center in every educational institution to prepare students for professional success. Dr. Zia Obaid concluded the opening session by extending a vote of thanks to all distinguished guests and participating organizations. The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Shahryar Khan, Senior Deputy Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, who graced the occasion.

A large number of students were interviewed, with many securing on-the-spot selections, underscoring the effectiveness and success of the initiative. The job fair received high appreciation from both employers and the student body, who acknowledged the platform as a valuable opportunity for networking, talent acquisition, and career advancement.

Through this landmark initiative, the Career Development Center (CDC) reaffirmed its role in bridging the gap between academia and industry. IMS remains committed to creating success stories by empowering students with opportunities that translate academic potential into professional achievement.
