It is a matter of deep personal honor that I have had the privilege of being associated with this university as a student, a faculty member, and now as its Vice Chancellor.

Higher education today stands at a pivotal crossroads. Rapid changes in technology, research paradigms, and global economic dynamics demand that universities not merely respond to the present, but actively prepare their graduates for the challenges of tomorrow. At the University of Peshawar, we embrace this responsibility with full commitment and resolve.

Our faculty — accomplished, experienced, and deeply dedicated — remains the cornerstone of our academic mission. We are steadfastly committed to fostering excellence across both classical disciplines and emerging fields of knowledge. In pursuit of this goal, we will continue to strengthen partnerships with government bodies, national and international academic institutions, research organizations, and our distinguished alumni network. Expanding industry linkages and creating practical training and internship opportunities for our students will remain among our foremost priorities.

I am fully aware of the financial constraints currently facing universities across the country. The University of Peshawar, with an enrolment exceeding 20,000 students and a substantial workforce, has not been immune to the pressures of inflation and limited public funding. We are actively engaged with the government and relevant authorities to address these challenges in a sustainable and transparent manner.

The University of Peshawar is fortunate to be home to one of the most scenic and vibrant campuses in the country — an environment that should inspire scholarship, creativity, and well-being. We are committed to further enhancing campus infrastructure, academic facilities, and student services to meet international standards. Our students are our most valued asset. In addition to academic and research support, we will revitalize student societies, promote healthy recreational and cultural activities, and implement firm measures to ensure a safe, inclusive, and drug-free campus environment.
