Directorate of Works

The Directorate of Works is the principal development, infrastructure, maintenance, and energy management wing of the University of Peshawar, entrusted with the planning, development, operation, maintenance, and supervision of the University's physical infrastructure and essential utility services. The Directorate plays a pivotal role in creating, preserving, and enhancing a safe, functional, and sustainable campus environment that supports the University's academic, research, administrative, and residential activities.

The Directorate is responsible for the execution, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all civil, electrical, mechanical, sanitary, water supply, sewerage, gas, utility, and solarization works within the University. It ensures that the University's infrastructure remains operational, safe, and compliant with applicable engineering standards, statutory regulations, and institutional requirements.

As the University's infrastructure development arm, the Directorate plans and executes new construction projects, undertakes renovation and rehabilitation of existing facilities, manages utility networks, and oversees the maintenance of academic buildings, administrative offices, residential houses, hostels, laboratories, libraries, roads, and other essential facilities. Through effective planning, technical expertise, and efficient resource management, the Directorate contributes significantly to the University's long term growth and operational excellence.

The Directorate is equally committed to promoting sustainable development by adopting energy efficient technologies and implementing renewable energy initiatives, including solarization projects. These initiatives are aimed at reducing electricity consumption, lowering operational costs, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting the University's commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.

Working in close coordination with the University's administration, government departments, utility service providers, consultants, and contractors, the Directorate strives to ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential services while continuously improving the University's infrastructure to meet present and future institutional needs.
